As 2021 draws to a close and another strange year is winding down, our team at InfraNet thought that it would be fun to share some of our favorite technology gadgets and other fun/useful items that we used or purchased in the past year. The list is as eclectic as the interests of the InfraNet team.

In pure technology:
We have been impressed with the new Surface Studio Laptop, a powerful and clever hybrid computer that falls somewhere between a traditional laptop and a tablet. It just came out this fall, earning rave reviews from our customers.

Tom Thibodeau likes how he repurposed an old Mac All-in-One computer that he now uses as his Netflix/video/Spotify/recipe workstation in his kitchen.

Justin Comeau discovered the Levkey vertical mouse at a client site and loved using it. He just had to get one for himself. It is ergonomic and helps reduce any hand pain while using the computer for lengthy periods.

Tom Mournighan loves his new Google Pixel 6 Pro. He bought two new phones, an iPhone for his wife and the Pixel for himself because he couldn’t bring himself to make the switch to Apple.

Home technology:
Alex Cooper appreciates the Kasa smart switch that he installed in his bedroom this year for controlling the lighting in his bedroom, so he no longer has to get of bed to turn off the lights.

Terry Keeling enjoys the Moccamaster coffeemaker that brews a perfect cup of coffee to keep him going through his hectic schedule, solving computer challenges and the riddles of the universe, which he studies in his “free” time.

Kin Lai uses tech to help save time (a novel idea), to spend more time with his wife and two young sons. The iRobot Roomba vacuum he purchased saves him quite a bit of time from having to sweep up the goldfish crackers that the kids drop.

Jessinia Calle praises the Skullcandy Crusher EVO headphones she purchased to keep the music playing. Not only do they provide excellent sound, but they do a fantastic job of insulating the sound from others.

In the personal wellness category, Andrew Peacock cannot say enough good things about the foam roller he purchased to help with his post-workout stretching.

In the home and garden:
John Hastie bought a new chain saw and wood splitter from Harbor Freight. John cuts the trees while his son, Cal, splits the wood.

Beth Hughes uses her new electric soil cultivator to tend her many gardens. You should see them in bloom.

On the gaming front:
Marc Schnyder purchased the Lego AT-AT to challenge himself as it is one of the most complex sets. When he finishes building it, he will add automation to make it move.

Jake Nardone has been enjoying Counter-strike. While not a new game, it is still one of his favorites.

Cameron Pesente plays Apex Legends, a free-to-play Battle Royale, with his friends and even alone when time permits.

John Lutfy’s family loves to ski. Every weekend they are on the mountains, whether watching his daughter’s race, helping set up the races, or getting to ski some runs himself. They use the Ski Tracks to track all of their ski activity.

Marynel Wahl had two favorites this year. First, the Apple Air Pods came in handy while everyone worked or learned from home. While the house got very noisy at times, making it difficult to concentrate, the Air Pods made things less disruptive.

And while trying to get out of the house as much as possible by taking long walks, Pokémon Go added to the adventures and created some fantastic ongoing competitions going!

We are looking forward to the holiday break to enjoy a little time off to spend time with our families and our favorite traditions and activities.  We hope you and your families have a safe and delightful holiday season enjoying your favorite activities and starting new ones.
