Marynel Wahl Named “Commonwealth Heroine” by MA State Women’s Commission

Women who don’t often make the news, but who always make a difference

Boston, Mass (June 27, 2025) – Each year, the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW) partners with state legislators to identify women who make outstanding contributions to their organizations and in their communities.

Elected officials are encouraged to submit one woman from their constituency as a means of recognizing their invaluable efforts and extraordinary acts of service, who are making a big difference in their communities but not necessarily making the news.

Marynel Wahl has been selected as a 2025 Commonwealth Heroine. “I’m honored to be included in such a remarkable group of women,” said Wahl. In 2010, Wahl was appointed Chair of the Norwell Conservation Commission, responsible for the protection and management of Norwell’s conservation land and for administering the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, the Norwell Wetland Bylaw, and the Norwell Stormwater Management Bylaw. In 2022, she was appointed Chair of the Board of the South Shore Arc. An organization that empowers families and individuals of all ages with disabilities to reach their fullest potential.

“Marynel is the epitome of what it means to be a Commonwealth Heroine: someone who gives back to the community and is constantly working to help enrich the lives of others,” said Representative David DeCoste. “I was proud to nominate Marynel as a 2025 Commonwealth Heroine, and I commend her on this well-deserved award.”

This year, the Class of 2025 Commonwealth Heroines comprises more than 125 women from across the state, leaders in industry, business, nonprofit, advocacy, and more.

“The Commonwealth Heroines are women who don’t make the news, but make all the difference in their communities,” said MCSW Chairwoman Mary-dith Tuitt. “Thousands of women in every community across the Commonwealth perform unheralded acts daily that make our homes, neighborhoods, cities, and towns better places to live. Commonwealth Heroines use their time, talent, spirit, and enthusiasm to enrich the lives of others in their community. They are mentors, volunteers, and innovators – they are the glue that keeps a community together.”

Marynel is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of InfraNet Solutions, a Quincy, MA-based provider of intelligent technology, managed IT, and professional services for businesses, non-profits, and educational institutions. Since co-founding the company in 1998, she has helped InfraNet become a leading technology service and solutions provider. Her dedication to client success has been a driving force behind the company’s reputation for excellence.

The MCSW celebrated the 22nd Annual Commonwealth Heroines Class of 2025 on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Massachusetts Statehouse in the Gardner Auditorium.
